Imagine Cup Roadshow
Yesterday, I attended a Seminar held by Microsoft Student Partners at De La Salle University Manila. We arrived there at around 8:30 AM but the event started at 10 AM. wahaw. So we got our name tags, track cards and copy of program at the Registration table and we also got dog tags for souvenirs. haha!
We were able to try games or apps from MSP and Imagine Cup. There were also NGOs who seeks for volunteers who can help our community. Aside from that, participants were able to try the Xbox Kinect (but ofcourse, I wasn’t able to try it because I’m too shy to dance in the hallway. haha)
There was a Raffle too wherein we got half of the prices. haha. My classmate won the grand prize which is a Windows Phone (siya na!).
After our break, the seminar started at 1pm. The speakers talked about the upcoming Imagine Cup at Sydney Australia. According to them, it was a lifetime experience. (if you want to know more about it, just google/bing it.) I was truly amazed with it. Technology was truly innovating if we would use it to solve the world’s toughest problems. Imagine Cup’s theme is to use Technology to solve the world’s toughest problems. And its participants were truly great. They really inspiring. And yeah, we have winners from the Philippines. Wildfire game made by Implication won 1st place @ Imagine Cup 2010 while another winner which is the Conjunct by Signum Fidei won 2nd place @ Imagine Cup 2011.

So back to school again and I totally don’t feel it. haha!
Although we’re back in school, classes are still not regular because of the never-ending enrollment (refer to earlier personal post). Because of that, all we did this week is orientation. Sad to say, we’re not able to meet other instructors. Naman! Iniinjan kame! haha! So we’ve only met four of our instructors. Others we’re still unknown.
To kill the time that we spent in waiting and waiting, I and my barkada watched movies and tambay at my aunt’s canteen.
But my week does not end there because I really really hate my schedule. I don’t want Saturday classes. The worst part of it was the time. We’re scheduled at around 1-6 pm. So I’ve worked out my schedule and decided to request to change it or to transfer to other section that was scheduled on week days. Sad to say, it’s a long long process. Hopefully, I can change it by next week because classes will be regular next week. :)
I hope that this semester will be fun with the busy schedules and strict instructors. haha!
grabe ang enrollment experience ngayong semester. super!
so our Enrollment started last Friday (Nov. 4, 2011). The evaluation had gone smoothly so akala ko tuloy- tuloy na yon. So magbabayad na lang ako nung Wednesday. planado na lahat yon eh. Kinalkula ko na kumbaga. Isang araw sa cashier at sa Registrar. Pero hindi, yung plano na yun nasira.
Nov. 9 (Wednesday)
6:20 AM kami dumating ni Kuya sa school. before nung araw na ‘to nag-usap na kami ng kasama ko na maaga kami since 6 AM nagbubukas ang gates sa school. Akala ko maaga na kami. Maygolly! pagdating namin parang pila na ng NFA sa CAS building namin. mabuhay ang school namin! so nagbakasakali pa kami ni kuya na hanggang 2nd floor pa lang yung pila. anak ng tokleng, naikot namin first floor at second floor, walang space. puno ang hallway so we ended in the 3rd floor. hanubeyen! nag-nunumber na raw yung SG so may pag-asa pa. nagsimula sila magnumber by 6 AM tapos natapos sila ng around 9 AM. Sad thing, hindi kami belong dun. pumila lang pala kami para malamang “CUT-OFF na po! 1200 lang po ang inaccomodate namin today!” —- yeah kuyang may megaphone in yellow polo shirt you’re the best! grabeeeee! lumooo ng bongga! nag-usap na kami ni kuya after na kinabukasan 5 AM pa lang punta na kami. makikiFUN RUN na kami. hahahaha!
Nov. 10 (Thursday)
5:20 AM Yes! ang aga namin ni kuya! kakapit na kami sa gate! pero joke lang ‘to. bukas na ang gate. masamang pangitain ‘to. nagtatakbuhan na yung ibang tao. nakitakbo na kami kasi ramdam na naming naglipana na ang mga bampira sa CAS building. TH talaga kami ni kuya. anak ng tokleng, 3rd floor nanaman ang bagsak namin. kakapila pa lang namin niyayaya na ko ni kuya na umuwi na pero tama nga siya. wala nga kaming napala. Pero nakakita kami ng liwanag (korni). saka lang namin naisip na may mga koneksyon pala kami sa school. nakakajirits. alam mo yung nagsayang ka ng dalawang araw? tapos pagising gising ka pa ng 4:30 AM para makipagsabayan sa mga bampira? ayun yon eh! ang saya! don lang namin napagtanto, ang engot namin. haha! ang funny lang talaga. 2 hours lang tapos na kami agad?! eh kung pipili 5 hours bago matapos. saya talaga!
so ayon. parang fieldtrip lang kung gumising kaming lahat. grabe mga tao sa school! epic! pero ibang klase talaga ang enrollment ngayon sa school. 30K students tapos 1200 lang per day ang inaaccomodate? eh kelan ba nag-start ang enrollement? last week lang? may sapak ba? hello! pasukan na po namin sa monday! at ang masaya pa, 6 windows lang ang bukas sa cashier, in 2hours ata 300 persons lang ang naeentertain nila. whatever! ayoko ng balikan ang bangag mode sa school. dipa nagstart 2nd sem bangag na?!
